I have spent the last few years working closely to embed the SDGs into our Yr 2-5 programs with the help of the UNAAWA.

Dear All  

We would like to invite you to attend the 1st meeting of the Education Committee in 2021. As a previous email indicated we have lost several key members due to retirements such as the amazing Rees Barrett and his wife Ann. Rees and Ann were pivotal to the Education Committee and were nearly full time in their work. 

We, as the new co-convenors, are trying to streamline the Committee to support, recognise and promote the wonderful work that is being done in schools and other spaces.

We would like to encourage you to attend this meeting if you are interested in being part of the committee or if you are interested in the UN Education Committee Goals and want to know more. 

We will be showing you the new fledgeling website and discussing curated materials to be added for use, we will be hoping you join up to the closed Facebook community group and we will talk through some of the activities that may interest you in joining or even organising. 

 We will really need your help. The TOR, programs for 2021 and the Agenda are attached and the WebEx link is below

 TUNING IN AND MAKING CONNECTIONS. The hardest aspect of the process for me so far is trying to have my students think differently and start to make connections. They seem to get stuck in just giving me the obvious answers, with little detail and one to two word statements. This week we are going to make our focus on elaboration. I want them to start thinking of multiple viewpoints and to start challenging their previous ideas. I have really enjoyed being part of the Ron Ritchhart Making Thinking Visible PL over the last three weekends. Even though it was a really early start!!! I have started to make connections in the way I'm thinking and my approaches to inquiry. I only have my Year 4 Enrichment students for 60 minutes this week but want to challenge myself to get through a new routine and to engage them in a new Tech Tool.
